My name is Lucy Westlake and I am a 19-year old American mountaineer and explorer. I am attempting to become the youngest person to complete the Explorers Grand Slam. This December I will be climbing Carstensz Pyramid, the highest mountain in Oceania, so that leaves only two remaining expeditions to be able to set this world record: 1) skiing the last degree to the North Pole, and 2) skiing the last degree to the South Pole and climbing Mt. Vinson. This past May I became the youngest American woman to summit Mount Everest.
I am currently looking to join a team or create a team for my next two expeditions:
April 2023 - Ski the last degree to the North Pole
December 2023 - Ski the last degree to the South Pole and climb Mt. Vinson
Ideally, I would like to join a scientific exploration team or join/create an all-women expedition team. I am a student-athlete at the University of Southern California, so it would be a dream come true to be on an expedition team that is contributing to the study of climate change. I also have a passion to help inspire more young women to become mountaineers and explorers, so creating an all-women team for these expeditions would be rewarding as well.
